Use this four-week unit study to teach your children how a digital camera works. Learn about the basic elements of composition and other important aspects of taking a good picture. From backyard scavenger hunts to photo journals of a typical day in your life, this academic adventure is both fun and fascinating!
Topics covered in this study include:
- The science of light and lenses.
- The history of photography.
- Camera basics.
- Composing a photo.
- Famous photographers and their work.
- Applications of photography.

The Digital Photography unit is in electronic format, meaning your children can work through the study interactively, clicking on the links in each lesson to further their own investigation. Each day's lesson plan has been written in two levels: Lower Level (elementary grades) and Upper Level (junior/senior high grades), enabling the whole family to learn together!
