All aboard! Come along and join us in this engaging unit study, Trains! We’ll learn about the history of trains and about steam engines and inventors. With the Internet, we will watch train cams from around the world, visit railroad museums, and see all kinds of trains and rolling stock. We can read original newspaper accounts of the famous “Golden Spike” and the completion of the Transcontinental Railroad, and so much more!
The Trains unit is downloadable, and can be used by your children right away – no other resources required. They can work through the study interactively, clicking on the links in each lesson to further their own investigation. Each day’s lesson plan has been written in two levels:
By having these two levels for each day, the whole family can learn together! This study also includes Amanda’s Train Notebooking Pages.
Put on your conductor’s hat and come along for a fascinating, in-depth look at Trains!
“The Trains unit study brought my husband and sons together in a way that still makes me smile. They would all be working away quietly on their new and budding train hobby, and a series of talks and memories were exchanged like never before. While we were all learning about trains, steam, engines, the Pullman story, and train frogs, the bond was strengthening and memories were made!”
Don’t forget that these are digital studies and can be used on computers, tablets,
smart phones, and other mobile devices, too.
