Unit Study Adventures
One-Week Study*
Grades K – 12

Veterans Day–what does it mean to you? The history of this holiday is important; it exists because of the strength and conviction of past generations that we should always remember our veterans and their sacrifices for our peace and protection. Use this Veterans Day week-long study to become familiar with veterans, their sacrifices and their courage. Learn more about the American military system, how it protects us, and what is happening these days with our defense.

The Veterans Day unit study is a special offering from the Unit Study Adventure series, designed to be a one-week study for grades K-12. The daily lesson plans have been written in two levels in this study:

Lower Level (elementary grades)
Upper Level (junior/senior high grades)

There are reading and writing assignments (Read and Discover), spelling and vocabulary words (Wise Words), biography studies, and projects for the whole family. Favorite books and Internet sites are included in the lesson plan as well as a large resource collection of Internet sites.

This wonderful study is non-consumable and can be used year after year and includes notebooking pages too!

With this holiday, let’s bring out the flag and applaud our veterans. Let’s teach these things to our children, so that we never take our freedom and liberty for granted. All of our veterans deserve our appreciation and remembrance. It is now the next generations’ responsibility to protect and defend our country, our God-given rights, and our freedoms!

*NOTE:  Veterans Day is a limited-availability excerpt from Patriotic Holidays, a four-week study which devotes one week to the exploration of each of the American patriotic holidays:
